BRUSH LETTERING BASICS
Brush Script Lettering is a versatile tool to have in your repertoire, and once you know the basics, different treatments can be applied to create countless styles. These workshops are perfect for those who are creatively curious, keen to learn a new skill or are looking to escape the computer screen for a few precious hours!
the main Focus
This workshop guides you through all the need-to-know fundamentals of handcrafted typography and brush script lettering. For the first part of the class, the focus is on learning the set of basic strokes that combine to create a hand lettered alphabet — as well as how to hold and angle the Tombow brush pen. The class then shifts to what makes good lettering, consistency, various styles and embellishments.
The aim of these workshops is for participants to walk away with an improved knowledge of typography, a brand new handmade skill and a good understanding of technique to practise and improve on at home. Brush Lettering can be applied to anything from posters, cards, personal projects, logos and beyond - the possibilities are endless! These classes are open to anyone with no prior experience necessary.
